Welcome to Oulu City Hall to a workshop where we’ll explore what the silent job market actually looks like in Finland and how you can build your approach to tackle it.

Most of us have heard statistics like 70% of the job market in Finland being hidden, but few address what the hidden job market is and how it works. At the same time, you have probably heard that having a LinkedIn profile and networking is a must. But what is all this, and why does it matter?

In this 3-hour training, we’ll go through three key areas:
1. What is the silent job market, really
2. The logic of recruitment and why LinkedIn matters
3. Building your brand to maximize your visibility and opportunities

In each topic area, we’ll explore practical examples, real-life stories, and build your approach from the ground up with interactive tasks supported by ready-made templates and prompts we’ll use with your AI tool of choice. At the end of this event, you’ll understand how job search in Finland, both in the visible and silent market, how networks tie into both, and have strategies to start creating opportunities for visibility and collaboration.

Bringing your own device to this session is strongly recommended if you want to get the most out of the event program.

Our trainer for this on-site afternoon session is Viivi Marttinen. She is currently working as Head of Community and Talent at Herizon, helping international professionals with their job search.
